CAREERS & COLLABORATIONS

GEN is an independent space in Leeuwarden bringing together streetwear, photography, creative culture and coffee. As we grow, we’re looking for people who want to bring their experience, ideas and energy to what comes next.

Explore our current opportunities below.

RETAIL & FASHION — INVESTMENT PARTNER

Leeuwarden, FR · Netherlands

We’re looking for a partner who can contribute both capital and industry experience to GEN’s next stage of growth.

You should have experience in fashion or retail, relevant industry connections and the ability to communicate in Dutch. Ideally, you’re based in Leeuwarden or able to be here regularly, with an interest in taking an active role in developing the business.

We’re open to a profit-sharing partnership. The investment, responsibilities and partnership terms will be discussed together.

To express your interest, email us with a short introduction, your relevant experience and how you see yourself contributing to GEN.

COFFEE — INVESTMENT & OPERATING PARTNER

Leeuwarden, FR · Netherlands

We’re looking for a partner to invest in and develop GEN’s coffee corner.

You should have experience in coffee, the ability to contribute financially and an interest in taking responsibility for the day-to-day operation. From equipment and menu development to service and customer experience, we’re looking for someone who can help this part of GEN grow.

Being based in Leeuwarden, or willing to travel here regularly, is important. We want to create a coffee experience that fits GEN’s character and gives people another reason to spend time in the store.

Email us with an introduction, your experience and your ideas for the space.

ALL-AROUND CREATIVE INTERN — OPEN APPLICATION

Leeuwarden, FR · Netherlands

Interested in fashion and creative production? Want to turn your ideas into real projects? We’d like to hear from you.

We’re looking for a curious, motivated creative intern who enjoys working with people, takes initiative and feels connected to GEN’s visual identity. Ideally, you’re based in Leeuwarden and studying at NHL Stenden, but we welcome applications from other schools and relevant backgrounds.

Depending on your strengths, you could contribute to:

  • Developing and producing content for Instagram and TikTok.
  • Creating moodboards, researching models and locations, and helping organise fashion shoots.
  • Designing graphics, Reels and Stories that reflect GEN’s character.
  • Researching local events and fashion events where GEN could take part.
  • Developing ideas for pop-ups and creative gatherings, and helping plan and deliver approved concepts.
  • Building well-researched lists of relevant local creators, artists and public figures, including their suitability for GEN and publicly available contact details.
  • Proposing concepts, locations, participants and schedules for collaborations and events.

You don’t need to be experienced in every area. We’re interested in what you do well, how you approach new ideas and your willingness to learn and follow through.

This is an opportunity to contribute to a growing independent brand and develop work for your portfolio through real projects.

Email us with a short introduction, your portfolio or examples of your work, your study details and your availability.

FASHION DESIGNER — PROJECT/A

Leeuwarden, FR · Netherlands

We’re looking for a fashion designer to develop original pieces for PROJECT/A, our independent label at GEN.

You could be a student, a recent graduate or an experienced designer. What matters to us is your design perspective, your understanding of fabrics and patterns, and your ability to turn ideas into well-made, wearable pieces.

We’d like to work with someone familiar with the design approaches of Acne Studios, KidSuper, Heaven by Marc Jacobs and Martine Rose, while bringing their own interpretation and ideas.

We’re particularly interested in oversized silhouettes, unexpected fabric combinations and distinctive construction details. Our initial focus will be jackets and tracksuit pieces.

We’re looking for someone who can:

  • Understand fabric properties and how different materials work together.
  • Develop contemporary patterns, particularly oversized cuts.
  • Work confidently with pattern cutting, sewing and finishing.
  • Reinterpret existing materials to create original garments.
  • Take a design from concept and sketch through to sampling and a finished piece ready for sale.

Having your own studio or access to production facilities is an advantage, but not essential. We would prefer someone based near Leeuwarden, though we’re open to applications from other locations.

Email us with your portfolio, photographs of garments you’ve made, your location and a short description of your skills and access to equipment or workspace.
